Périgord Noir :
Opening onto the valleys of the Vézère and Dordogne rivers, this region is the most visited in the département, with its many world-renowned prehistoric sites such as Les Eyzies and the Lascaux caves.
But it's also famous for its many castles (Montfort, Beynac, Castelnaud...), as well as the medieval city of Sarlat, and its many listed or classified monuments.
The landscapes have remained immortally beautiful. Montignac, Font-de-Gaume, Le Bugue, Terrasson, Saint-Cyprien and Sarlat are the highlights of a prestigious carillon.
Purple Périgord:
To the south-west of the Dordogne department, down the river, lies the Pays du Grand Bergeracois, also known as Pays des Bastides.
The crimson color evokes the wines that are king in the lands of Montaigne, Pécharmant, Bergerac, Montravel and Monbazillac. (There are thirteen appellations for these highly controlled wines).
Its French and English bastides and typical villages evoke a great page in the history and social life of Aquitaine.Unobstructed view of the river, shady, quiet, air-conditioned.
