Location
Perched on a promontory 250 meters above sea level, Le Castellet is famous for its Paul Ricard motor racing circuit, where prestigious Formula 1 and motorcycle races are held. Yet this Var village is not lacking in charm and attractions. Set in the heart of the Bandol vineyards, it has a medieval, picturesque and authentic character that makes for a pleasant stroll. Enter through one of the two fortified gates, le Portalet or le Grand Portail, then take one of the cobbled, flower-filled streets. Admire the old stone houses, browse in the many craft stores, stroll along the shady squares and discover a beautiful heritage.

The château, which today houses the town hall, dates back to the 15th century and, from its esplanade, offers a splendid panorama of the Sainte-Beaume massif and the vineyards below. Not far from here, you'll find the Trou de Madame, one of the many openings created in the ramparts, where you can also enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. The church of Saint-Sauveur dates back to the 12th century.
