For those of you who prefer the rugged mountain landscape and traditional villages of Mallorca, this villa is perfectly located: The hiking area around the sanctuary of Lluc is within easy reach, there are good views of the striking Gothic church that overlooks Selva , and the cars waiting in the car park, which is slightly below ground level, are always ready to spring into action. With luggage in hand, a wide staircase leads you straight up to the well-kept pool. This forms the golden centre, the perfect position between the two buildings that make up the property. Here you will find folding chairs and sun loungers for a little breather in the shade. Under the expansive flat roof of the sleeping area, you can easily make yourself (and your family) comfortable on the well-cushioned rattan sofa, with your back protected from the wind and a view of the lush greenery in front of you. Over in the outdoor kitchen, the barbecue can be safely fired up. With its gnarled olive trees, planters, bougainvilleas and chamaerops, the garden really is a feast for the eyes. It also offers plenty of space for pleasant evenings in the open air, a quiet retreat with a good book and plenty of table tennis games. An important note for those with children: The decorative metal tower in the grounds is a remnant from the mining industry and not a climbing frame.
Meanwhile, a game of billiards can be played inside, providing a fun alternative to an evening watching TV in front of the fire. Thanks to the position of the pool table, matches can go on late into the night without having to worry about disturbing other people's sleep. What makes this villa so special is the fact that it consists of two completely separate areas: The living room with a passageway to the modern fitted kitchen turns outdoor barbecues into a covered adventure. Opposite you will find the property area with the three puristically designed bedrooms. Behind the lounge, a glass door leads to a staircase, which in turn takes you to an anteroom with seating. Behind this, two double beds and two single beds are waiting to be made up. Each of the beds is guaranteed to make you dream in white. Three cosy bathrooms with washing machine and showers or shower trays can be shared between you one in the right and one in the left wing of the house, as well as an outside bathroom so that you don't have to wait long if you need to Hear the mountains calling your name one morning.
Selva is (still) a place with lots of character! If you fancy a shopping spree, you live close enough to the centre to either walk into town or take the little connecting road that leads there. The roads wind uphill and the roads wind downhill a great way to warm up your muscles and prepare for longer tours. With herbal liqueur, bread and olive oil in your rucksack, it's almost like a workout in itself. This applies regardless of whether you just want to make a pilgrimage to the church of St Laurentius first, from where you can enjoy spectacular views over Artà and the bay of Alcúdia, or whether you take the 12 km tour from here Caimari to the sanctuary of Lluc. When it comes to liquid provisions for your trip, your first port of call should be a tasting of the goods on offer in Binissalem, the centre of Mallorcan wine production. Inca, the island's shopping paradise, also has a quaint cellar house and enough restaurants to give the town a solid foundation. However, should you ever melt away in the heat, simply start with a trip to Playa de Muro, 30 kilometres away. On the outskirts of the charming town of Selva, just 5 km north of Inca, the summery Sa Mina de San Cayetano offers ideal conditions for a successful (hiking) holiday and immersion in Mallorcan village life. In addition to the Aprop supermarket, which is just 1 km away, there are several restaurants and a bike hire service in the village. The Serra del Norte with the famous Lluc monastery is only 14 km away, while Badia dAlcúdia is around 30 km from the villa; a day of swimming at Playa de Muro or Can Picafort is a great way to round off your holiday in a refreshing way.
