This charming little villa is situated in an absolutely peaceful location, perfectly suited to the rural, wooded surroundings: an undisturbed stone house with a practical outdoor kitchen with barbecue Privacy is a top priority here. However, the last part of the road is a little bumpy, so your hire car should be prepared for this. There are a few steps up to the entrance, so it is particularly pleasing that there is a barrier-free ramp for trolleys or a pushchair. However, you must be careful that crawling mice do not enter uninvited. From here or from the other side, you can also access the natural garden under the trees, where you can discover a stone bench or two for moments of retreat. The sun smiles down on the well-embedded pool by the house, where you can almost swim into the fields; you can sit cool and shady or take a meal or a relaxing siesta on the side terrace. Loungers are very welcome at Son Barrigo!
The interior of the house is as simple and unpretentious as the property itself, but without sacrificing comfort. The spacious living/dining room with fireplace and leather furniture as well as the open-plan kitchen promise a pleasant coolness; everything you need is within reach or well stowed away, the large fridge is filled with fruit and vegetables from the market and provides the daily freshness kick. You'll feel at home at the small table, even if you need to open your laptop to keep up to date or plan your next trip. Three conservatively furnished bedrooms with fitted wardrobes, double bed and single beds share a smaller shower room, a large bathroom with bath and shower cubicle and the outdoor shower by the pool.
Enjoy rural Mallorcan life among juicy apricots and honey-flavoured melons and the view over the fertile plains of Santuarie de Mont-Sion! The fridge and picnic basket are always well stocked. Sweet pastries from Porreres made from chocolate and Villafranca attracts visitors with fruit stalls at the entrance to the village and the Festa del Meló at the beginning of September. In Llucmajor you must have a café in the historic Colón and shop at the large vegetable market, try the almond croissants in Campos and sample the stalls from Sa Rápita to Cala Santanyí, each one more beautiful than the last. If you prefer to sit down at a prepared table after a long day of sightseeing, let yourself be surprised by what L'Escrivania in Porreres can conjure up from local albaricoques. The location of the small, well-kept Villa Son Barrigo in the gentle hills between Porreres and Vilafranca is very conveniently connected to the Ma-15 and Ma-19 motorways and yet is absolutely quiet. This means you can quickly reach attractive tourist destinations such as Palma, Llucmajor, Manacor and the dream beaches of the south, which are around half an hour away; the large selection of shops, vegetable markets and idyllic squares with bars and cafés is an additional plus point of the secluded island centre, which can be explored by bike.
This is a Fincallorca holiday home.
