The historic Agroturismo Mansión Sa Capella looks back on a proud history: built in 1700 as a monastery (the main chapel on the ground floor still bears witness to this time), it became a meeting place for aristocrats, politicians and artists in the 1960s. The Queen of the Netherlands and the painter Miró were among the guests who over the years enjoyed the Mallorcan sun on the large terraces surrounded by olive and orange trees, vegetable patches and pine forests. Nowadays, families and groups enjoy the slightly sunken pool with shallow end and water spout, the spacious terraces and covered lounge areas, the beautiful views of the countryside and the proximity to the village, which is within easy walking distance. Situated under the pillars at pool level, the flat offers self-catering accommodation for up to 6 guests and has a charming terrace with sun loungers where you can enjoy relaxing hours. Up to eight cars can be parked on the property. However, if you prefer to cycle along small country roads, you are welcome to hire an e-bike.
It feels like being transported to another time and era: The main house welcomes you into the grandiose entrance hall in true Mallorcan style a perfect place to get together in small groups or meet up before an excursion. Likewise, the elegant living room with its massive fireplace and high arches and the exquisite dining room with its long table will make you feel like royalty. As was usual in such houses in the past, when they were still run by servants, the functional kitchen, a second dining room and the utility room are located in the basement. The character of the house is particularly evident in the guest rooms on the upper floors (including one single and one triple room with a view of Santa Margalida, up to 3 children's beds possible): They are furnished with lots of unusual, partly antique furniture Beds with or without canopies, hidden in alcoves or richly decorated, while the modern bathrooms meet the needs of today's visitors. The comfortable flat with open-plan kitchen and living room and two bathrooms (including a connecting bathroom with whirlpool bath) is a world apart in every respect; large arched windows allow you to gaze at the starry sky when you fall asleep and offer a breathtaking view when you wake up. The yoga room is available exclusively for yoga groups or workshops (price on request only).
If you want to spend your holiday close to the locals and with a view of the Tramuntana mountains, then Santa Margalida is the place for you. In the shop of the local Galmés i Ribot winery, you can buy excellent wines and choose from a wide selection of regional products. Cyclists can refuel in one of the bars before setting off through uninhabited landscapes to C'an Picafort. Taking the Ma-3410 by car would be a more convenient way to get to the bustling coastal town of Can Picafort with its harbour, extra-large sandy beach and harbour promenade. Now that you're on your way, be sure to visit the necropolis of Son Real, a unique talayotic tomb dating back to the time before Christ, and then celebrate life twice as happily. Agroturismo Mansión Sa Capella extends almost stately over the 50,000 m² estate, which has been home to many a celebrity. The main house and annexe are both surrounded by the fields and hills of Santa Margalida, just 1 km away, a typical rural town with cafés, restaurants, a bank and the necessary shopping facilities for daily needs, including a weekly farmers' market and a bodega.
The popular beaches of Badia dAlcúdia and Playa de Muro are only 10 km away and the area around Pollença and Betlem is ideal for hiking and cycling.
