Main description:

Welcome to a FridaysFlats experience

A mediterranean style house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and private pool & terrace, this independent urban unit can accommodate 6 travelers in a super convenient location, a stone’s throw away from the city’s best quality beaches.

The resting area consists of 3 double bedrooms with 2 single beds that can be kept apart or easily joined together, so they fit either friends OR couples, plus one more daybed / lounge crevice adjoining the activities area. The open plan of the kitchen, dining area and living room is incredibly bright, and sunny, as it is connected directly to the private terrace with a swimming pool. The space is ideal for planning the trip to the beach, having a lovely breakfast (or brunch), enjoying the sunset or even spending a day at home, making the most of all the amenities. The sunshine is on us!
The house was designed for 6 people to share comfortably, with privacy in the bedrooms area and a lot of versatility in the communal area, so that your party can enjoy the best possible experience.
The interior design concept was “mediterranean with a splash of teal”, to put you in the mood for a wonderful beachside vacation. The white color palette preserves the power of Mediterranean light, which abunds through the wide window towards the terrace, especially since the house is situated in such close proximity to the beach.
A lazy atmosphere is maintained both inside and outside the house, with places to lounge or sunbathe in privacy, poolside or in the communal area. This makes it easier to relax, unwind and get into vacation mode, to get you ready to step out into the authenticity of the street and sample the local joie de vivre. Barcelona is such a sunny destination that a pool is something you can make the most out of every day of the year.
The coquette little kitchen is small but mighty: fully equipped with everything you need for making a light breakfast or a generous meal. It comes equipped with a coffee machine, fridge, dishwasher, oven, induction plate stove, microwave oven plus pots, plates and cutlery.
The outside area is perfect for eating, drinking, gossiping, playing board games, or planning the next adventures - all we ask is that you respect the neighbors!

Notes:

First of all, welcome to Barcelona. We’re happy to have you and we hope you have an amazing time staying in our flat. That being said, at the risk of being obvious, here are some basic ground rules:

Be mindful
We are not the police, nor do we want you to feel like we are patronizing, but we think it’s our duty to point out some common sense stuff, as we’ve had our experiences with not so well behaved guests in the past.
Respect the neighbors. Put yourself in their shoes, and keep the noise down to a minimum after 10PM. You are on holiday, but they’re probably stressed about their jobs and would appreciate a good night’s sleep. We want you to have fun, but be reasonable and don’t do unto others what you wouldn’t like done to you. Pissing them off is only going to get you into trouble, and surely you don’t need that while you’re on holiday.

No Parties!
We get it, you’re excited about being in Barcelona. But remember, the walls are paper thin and if you’re having a party, so are the neighbors. And maybe they’re not in the mood for that. Don’t start a fight you can’t possibly win, it’s their city and we want to respect that. Any guest that causes a disturbance will be asked to leave the apartment immediately (no refund at all to be granted). Sorry!
Watch out for slamming doors. Try to be quiet when entering the house, it’s not hard to be a good neighbor and we’re sure you can do it.
Be fair! It is not allowed to have more guests than you indicate during your reservation.

Keys & check-out
Don’t leave the keys in the mailbox. If you leave earlier than check out time, please leave the keys on the table and pull the door behind you to shut it. Most flats have the type of door that doesn’t require you to lock when you leave. That’s something to watch out for, as it’s very easy to get locked outside (which is also a bummer, take our word for it). Make sure you lock the door with the key every time you leave the flat. That way your belongings stay safer.

Don’t smoke inside
NO smoking allowed in the apartment. We care about your lungs, but if you have to do it, please step outside. We’d like to keep the flat from smelling bad when our next guests arrive.

Don’t waste energy
We kindly ask you to please turn the lights and air conditioning units OFF whenever you leave the apartment. We care about our planet.

Extra stuff
Additional cleaning, bedding etc can be arranged for a longer stay - but you have to request this while booking.

Tourist tax:
The government of Cataluñya imposes a tourist tax of €6.88 to be paid by every person over 16 per night with a maximum length of 7 days. The tax is a small price to pay in exchange for clean beaches, well-maintained roads, and good facilities.

Arrival
Standard Check-in is from 15:00h to 20:00h. However, we can accommodate late arrivals as well.
Please note the extra charges for late arrivals:
Arrivals after 8PM have to pay €25 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
Arrivals after 12AM have to pay €50 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
These charges are due to late working hours of our staff.

Departure
Check-out time is by 11AM. Arrangements can be made to leave luggage in the apartment until the departure from Barcelona if no other reservations are pending.
Note: if there is no booking for that day, talk to us about arranging a later check-out (if possible).

Lost keys
If you lose a key, there will be a charge of €60 to replace the set.

Kind request
On your last day, please wash the dishes and take out the garbage.

Interaction:

We are here for you 24/7 - it’s our job to make sure you have a good time. Therefore, in addition to anything accommodation related, we can help you plan just about any experience you can think of, be it sailing trips, guided tours, off-the-beaten-path voyages.

You can also count on us for any type of transport (limo service, bike rental, scooters, jet-skis, yachts, just about anything short of a rocket, you name it we’ll take care of it). We also offer deals on airport shuttle at convenient prices.

Neighborhood:

Meet your surroundings
Poblenou is the ideal destination if you want to enjoy one of the city’s newest beaches, a former Olympic venue, while still being close to the center of the city, and to stay in Barcelona’s own Silicon Valley. The area is surprisingly quiet and residential, for how close to the beach AND the center it is (but still away from the hustle and bustle).
Fast, easy and cheap transportation options enable you to get to different areas in town for a budget. Well connected through metro lines, buses or bike lanes to everything that you could possibly want to visit, Poblenou is the most vibrant, eclectic and creativity filled corner of Barcelona.
A lot of stuff happens in Poblenou, food and fashion fairs, make sure to check social media / the internet for such pop-up events, they tend to be a lot of fun. It’s no surprise that most of the companies have rented their offices around this part of the city, and also some of the best hotels in town can be found here. The neck-turning skyline comes in fantastic contrast with the relaxed beach atmosphere of the streets and parks. Speaking of parks, if you are a fitness aficionado, you will find plenty of options to work out on the beach nearest to the flat (Platja de Llevant) and an awesome skate park very close.

The closest neighborhoods
Bogatell is one of Barcelona’s newest beaches. Renovated in the 90s when the city’s coastline was rehabilitated to host some of the Olympic festivities, it is now a local favorite, not just for sunbathing and water sports, but also for everyone enjoying ping-pong, beach volley, or football.
Due to its recent urbanization, this 700m stretch of perfect sand is one of the best quality seafronts Barcelona has to offer. The Sunny & Serene flat is about 5 minutes away walking - access to Bogatell doesn’t get any better than this.
Towards the center you will find Born, El Gotico and Raval - all part of the old medieval town. rich in history and full of museums, monuments and interesting cultural venues like The Picasso Museum, Museo de la Marina, MACBA (for Contemporary Art) or the Catalan Cultural Center. Some fun and interesting stuff for kids is available if you need to entertain them (The ZOO in Ciutadella park), Big Fun Museum, The Museum of Illusions or the Wax Museum). You can take the Yellow Line (L4) to Barceloneta and walk to the Barcelona Aquarium. Pro tip: the Chocolate Museum in Born is always a hit with the kids.

Some central landmarks
The city’s epicenter is Plaça de Catalunya, situated in the middle of the old town neighborhoods Barri Gotic and El Born. The city’s most luxurious street (Passeig de Gracia) and it’s most famous (La Rambla) both stem from this large square. The area is full of museums, monuments and interesting cultural venues like Museo de la Marina, MACBA (for Contemporary Art) or the Catalan Cultural Center, plus some fun and interesting stuff for kids of all ages (Big Fun Museum and Museum of Illusions or the Wax Museum). The Gran Teatre del Liceu (Opera) is also on La Rambla. Everything is easily accessible by metro, bus, taxi or walking.
The center of Barcelona is a very lively place, with its contagious exuberance constantly spilling out onto small streets and cute Plaças packed with cafes, bars and local designer shops. The iconic La Rambla is an eclectic kilometer-long stretch of restaurants, bars, cultural venues, street vendors, convenience stores, fashion boutiques and just about anything else you can think of. Explore palaces, history rich sites like Plaça Reial, admire street performers and avoid flower sellers. There’s an El Corte Inglés department store right in the middle of Plaça de Catalunya.
A notable stop on La Rambla is its famous Boqueria, a fresh-food market with over 300 stalls that sell produce, meats, cheeses, fish, seafood, nuts, fresh juices and many other incredibly delicious things to munch on. There’s also a local food school where local chefs and sommeliers share their wisdom. If you’re not afraid of a little hike, head uphill to find other iconic Barcelona landmarks, like the local’s favorite Villa de Gracia, or Gaudi’s other masterpiece: Park Guell. Either way you go, something awesome is waiting to be discovered.
Contemplate the gothic architecture around Barcelona’s 800 years old Cathedral, all covered in gargoyles. See Columbus’s statue, admire the yachts in the marina and stroll through the Barceloneta streets onto the nearest beaches for the Mediterranean vibe. Elegant colonial buildings surround you. Shadowy arches. High windows. Fading wooden shutters. Travel back in time as you wander the narrow streets. The buildings lean overhead, almost touching.

Montjuic
Montjuic has its own wonders: the botanical gardens (Jardi Botanic Istoric, Jardins de Joan Brossa & Jardins de Mossèn Costa i Llobera) some museums (the majestic Museo Nacional de Arte de Catalunya, the newer Caixa Forum, the Catalan Museum of Archeology, the stunning Fundacio Joan Miro, hosting the most famous Catalan artist’s works, Poble Espanyol where you can explore miniature versions of traditional spanish architecture), the funicular and the cable car you can hop on for jaw-dropping views of the entire marina & old city), the Teatre Grec if you’re into the dramatic art, Palau Sant Jordi where legendary bands play their live music, and the former Olympic village. Neither of these, however, rival the panoramic view of the city and Mediterranean sea you will get from up there.

If you want to go to the beach
You’ll be very close. Just smell the sea and follow the cries of the seagulls. Spread out right on the shoreline, a series of beach bars (called Chiringuitos) will feed your hunger while giving you the opportunity to look at the sea from up close. You can also rent a chaise-longue and an umbrella from people working on the beach. Pro tip: The Mar Bella beach is always full of young people working out, if you need a sight for sore eyes.

In case you want to do some shopping
Shop ‘til you drop! Or maybe not that much, but still, find local designers and cute boutique stores in Europe’s biggest Luxury Shopping Mall: Diagonal Mar.
If you’re looking for more diversity, take the Yellow Metro Line (L4) directly to Passeig de Gracia. In Plaça Catalunya there is a big El Corte Ingles. The Rambla de Catalunya also has tons of great options.
The zona alta features L’Illa Diagonal and El Corte Ingles, as the exclusive Diagonal Avenue is littered with shops, boutiques and stores for a very wide range of tastes and budget options.
In Plaza d’España, the Arenas the Barcelona, a former bullring converted into a shopping mall, offers a variety of interesting stores, but let’s face it: the place is so cool that it’s worth a visit as a historic landmark, even if you don’t want to shop. Bonus, on the top floor there are a few nice restaurants where you can enjoy the local cuisine with a breath-taking view.
Pro Tip: If you want to go to a traditional market, the Mercat de Santa Caterina sells great meats and produce for affordable prices - the same things you will admire in the city center’s Mercat de la Boqueria you can buy in this market for a better price.

Access:

The easiest way to get to the house from the airport is by taxi, and the views are worth it (ASK US to book a taxi for you) You could also take the airport shuttle (A1 or A2) to Plaça Catalunya and transfer to either L4 (Selva de Mar) or L2 (San Marti) - the house is a short walk away from either. The H14 or B25 buses will drop you off even closer to the property. You can use these to reach the center without much fuss, or even walk there (about 40 minutes)

Space:

Don’t worry about shopping for groceries!
There is a well stocked SuperCor market accessible on foot from the house. In case you mean serious business, go on an expedition a bit further and grab some fresh local meats or produce, and fire up the barbeque for some poolside cooking. Enjoy your delicious meal!

Your safety is our priority!
While every professional company cleans their short-term rental thoroughly between guests, these challenging times require special measures. Rest assured we’re taking additional precautions to disinfect the property to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
We’re in constant accordance with new protocols advised by global health organizations (including the ECDC and World Health Organization) to have a system in place called “COVID-19 Disinfection Checklist for short-term rental disinfection”.
The laundry is cleaned professionally after each guest checks out, according to the same guidelines and by the same team. We leave nothing up to chance, because your safety is what matters most to us.

Speaking of your safety
Masks, gloves, and disinfectants are widely available in Barcelona, at any pharmacy and in most shops & department stores. Pharmacies are open at any time throughout the day, and situated within walking distance to the flat. We’ll leave some soap & hand sanitizer at the apartment for you.

Traveling by car?
If you are planning on driving to Barcelona, rest assured we’ll help you park your car safely. We typically recommend booking your parking spot ahead of time online, and offer a discount via parclick.

Is this a work trip?

The house is equipped with reliable, fiber optic WI-FI and offers a very comfortable setup to work from home. Well, as comfortable as working can be
