It's a great workout to walk up to the town's old mining center to see the abandoned mine and historic ruins, but the walk is worth it. The surrounding area offers beautiful hiking trails and nature lovers should definitely head to the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park and hike along the reservoir, Pantano del rumblar. Also drive to the city, La Carolina.
