Vodnjan is a typical medieval town with an interesting architectural pattern: the town's houses also form the town walls and used to serve as a defense. This village is centered around numerous, beautifully restored churches from the 14th and 16th centuries and a fortified manor house. Rovinj, (23 km) with a 1700 year old history is the most beautiful and luxurious tourist town in Istria, with a beautiful old town, a pearl of architecture.
