Aigues-Mortes est une destination touristique du sud de la France, située dans le département du Gard, en région Languedoc-Roussillon. La commune se trouve à 35 km de Nîmes, 30 km de Montpellier. Elle est par ailleurs séparée de la Mer Méditerranée par la commune voisine : le Grau du Roi. Elle est également limitrophe de la commune de Saint-Laurent-d'Aigouze.
Le saviez-vous? Le nom de la commune, "Aigues Mortes" provient étymologiquement de l'occitan et signifie "eaux mortes", ou eaux stagnantes. En effet, des étangs et marais s'étendent autour du village, et il n'y a jamais eu "d'eaux vives" à Aigues-Mortes.
