L'Emilie-Romagne est une région du nord de l'Italie dont la ville de Bologne est la capitale. Elle est considérée comme la région la plus riche et la plus développée d'Europe grâce à son exceptionnel centre historique et culturel. Elle abrite en effet la plus ancienne université du monde occidental.
La région est composée de deux territoires disctincts : l'Emilie et la Romagne, de trois types de reliefs : la plaine du Pô, des Apennins et d'une zone de transit, caractérisée par des collines.
Le patrimoine de la région est particulièrement présent dans les villes de Modène, Parme et Ferrare. Les provinces de Parme, Plaisance, Modène, Reggio Emilia, Ferrare et une partie de la Bologne composent l'Emilie. Ravenne, Rimini et Forli constituent la partie Romagne.
De nombreux sites historiques et culturels sont à visiter, particulièrement dans la ville de Bologne : les Tours médiévales, l'Eglise Saint Pétrone, la Fontaine de Neptune, la Place Majeure ou encore l'Abbaye de Saint Stéphane.
